Green tariff is a real burst for development of alternative energy sources in Ukraine. Its main implementation mechanisms have been established by the law on electric power sector.
The adopted Law of Ukraine is destined to stimulate the generation of electrical and thermal energy from alternative sources.
The wholesale electricity market of Ukraine must purchase (at the “green” tariff) the electric power produced at the electricity generation facilities that use alternative energy sources (other than blast furnace and coke oven gases), and unsold at the contract prices directly to the consumers or power supply companies that do business on electric power supply at the regulated tariff.
